Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Cottonwood County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy rules govern its handling of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or use a contact form, we retain the information needed to read and answer the message. We do not share the message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Information Collected During Visits
Web servers and measurement services may collect routine technical details when a page loads. Those details can include:
- The visitor's Internet Protocol address.
- The browser name and version.
- The device class and operating system.
- The pages opened and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- The date and time of the request.
Cookies and Browser Controls

This site links to Cottonwood County Sheriff and court resources, MNDOC pages, federal locators, public release-record sources, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy notice and data practices apply. Government data requested from a Minnesota agency may also be governed by the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, including Minn. Stat. ยงยง13.03 and 13.82, rather than this private site's policy.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That cross-site processing takes place under the partner's controls, not in Cottonwood County Released Inmates' own record storage.

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may still be transmitted or disclosed to:
- Search partners that process a visitor's submitted query.
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.

We use standard safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, or loss. No internet service, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed fully secure. This notice therefore does not promise that a breach or technical failure can never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent information to us, a request may be made through the Get in Touch page so the submission can be reviewed and deleted.
